Why Warm-Up?
Why Warm-Up?
Warming up is not just for when you are stiff or because you are doing leg day. If you haven’t noticed, everything in your body is connected. I mean toenails to eyelashes type of connected. Like thoughts to physical feelings type of connected. So having flow through your entire body not only means everything in your body will move better, it will move better together. Even in a scenario that you ONLY do isolated movements (which even training this way means the real life functional movements requires otherwise), you are still having to orchestrate and control the rest of the body to isolate. This is a long winded point to, nothing works alone… so doing mobility focused whole body movements before EVERY workout can be incredibly beneficial and a good way to sneak in extra mobility work. More benefits below 👇
What warming up can do for you:
💧 Increases blood flow throughout the body in preparation for the increased demand of the upcoming workout
💧Builds in time for mind-body connection… to become aware, intentional, and present of this relationship for your workout (and beyond)
💧 Helps create length and space in your tissues/structure for the movements in your workout
💧 In the same breath as above, therefore helps as a prehab tool (versus waiting for something to become wrong/experience restriction in movement)
💧 Provides data - it can help you where your body needs more lengthen, perhaps where you feel stagnation, where feels open and strong, etc
💧 Great opportunity to situate your playlist for your workout 😅
