Weekend Re•Center
Hey crew! Just wanted to pop on and remind you to take some time this weekend to ✨re•center✨
1. Do a recall of last week and take some time to appreciate your wins and really make note of the things you did. Too often we reflect from a lens of “should have”, “didn’t get that done”, “where did the week go”…. and just swiftly move forward in debt to where we feel we should be. The rat race is optional to participate in… at any point you can exit but taking moments to slow down, take stock of what is important and spend a bit more time in gratitude for the moment. Races may be fun to do once in a while, but they are no place to live in.
2. Do something that doesn’t involve you checking a calendar, the time, your phone, that isn’t measurable, that isn’t “expected” of you. Just be. Maybe that’s a hike in nature where you stop is appreciate the summer blooms, you have no idea the distance, the speed, and don’t view it as “exercise you have to do” as though it’s a chore. It’s an opportunity to “be”, and you just “are”.
3. Set your sights ahead. Now this is a tricky balance. Goals are fabulous, a path and plan is necessary, but we want to see the path and the general destination in a way that gives us permission to take the different side paths or reroutes that appear along the way. A week is a great amount of time to set some micro-goals that you can accomplish that set you up for future week progressions. Rather than having your overall destination looming over you all week with just a guilty feeling of everything you do being supportive of it or not, is not a great way to live. Instead the tiny changes, tiny goals, tiny wins that stack on top of each other eventually over time form the staircase to climb to that place where you know you were always going to reach but didn’t feel the pressure to.
