Weekend Thoughts
Weekend Thoughts
I’ve been getting into the habit of disconnecting on the weekends (long overdue might I add). Here are some things I am learning in this time (from my journal so it’s random thoughts but thought some may resonate):
This time is completely unscheduled, unplanned, no urgency, and full of opportunity.
- Mastering the art of letting myself be in the moment … giving myself permission to be.
- Letting go of urgency, chronic to do lists, feeling behind, constantly doing is one of the greatest gifts you can give your well-being.
- Breaking the habit/twitch of grabbing my phone to mindless scroll and not be present in the moment I’m in (instead the world in the phone)… disconnecting from “needing to know everything or staying up to date… giving my nervous system the opportunity to not be inundated with information and stimulation and quick dopamine every second of each day
- Realizing that time rushes by when you don’t allow yourself your be in time, experience, feel, look around. To exercise your senses, emotions, body, mind. To connect in ways that are not on your devices. Time can be beautiful not your enemy. Time can lead to growth and healing and progress, instead of forcing those things as an item on your to do list.
- Basics. Keeping yourself from your basic needs will keep you feeling like you are not whole or in balance. Feeling guilty for taking the time for your basic needs is fake news and a narrative working against yourself.
