Travel Hack: Myofascial Release Tool
Who else gets tight and stiff traveling?
🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Once I discovered these small mobility tools and tricks, traveling hasn’t robbed me of my mobility.
Here are my key suggestions:
1. Stay hydrated. This is huge because dehydration is commonly the cause of muscle tightness and what I call “stickiness”. The lower humidity level at altitude and in the cabin speeds up your rate of dehydration- plus when you have to dump your liquids at security it does make it more of a task to have water on hand. Making the effort to hydrate can really make a big difference.
2. Get up and move as much as you can. You can move around and keep blood flowing without being weird 🤣. Do some ankle circles and pedals, walk the aisle, etc. At the airport, walk, stretch and utilize a tool like above to release in areas of tension
3. Travel Ergonomics. Unless you’re living your best life in first class, don’t hold your breath on them carrying about your chair ergonomics. But you can take it in your own hands and do yourself the favor by investing in luggage that you aren’t loading insanely heavy on your back or carrying on one side. It’s worth the investment to not create tightness and imbalances that can lead to pain and injury.
