WEEK 3 DAILY RITUALS: MENTAL&ENERGETIC
Welcome to Week 3!
This Week our focus is on Mental&Energetic daily rituals. Let's break down what the Human Essential of Mental&Energetic means and includes.
Our mind and our body do not operate in isolation, therefore when we speak of any physical journey, it must include the mind. The fascinating and complex thing about diving into our mind is that there is both what we are aware of, and what we an unaware of. There is both conscious and subconscious. There is both symphathic and parasympathetic. When we refer to the mind we are including all the things - from thoughts to the nervous system to the psychosomatic relationships that exist. That's why it is not as simple as saying “just think positive thoughts”, when we are both directing our mind and being directed by our mind. When our nervous system is constantly sending and receiving messages from internal and external sources. When our body reflects and stores our thoughts, emotions, memories, and more.
When we approach the mind, it both requires the open curiosity and knowingness that change is possible, you are just one decision away from allowing yourself to be in a space where change can occur. Neuroplasticity refers to your nervous system's ability to adapt and change via pathways and even neural development. Research have proven that this occurs through both internal and external shifts and stimuli. Meaning, changing thoughts and the way you use your brain, but also making external changes such as physical activity, changes in environment, etc.
This week is SUPER individual and I want you to really think outside the box from just doing what you see on the mental health side of social media, or what is a current trend. Become very observant of the blindspots - where are you holding yourself back or in a place of stagnation or a rut in your healing/transformation? Where have you become complacent - is that a thread to pull to finding some deep rooted fear? What are you doing for those quick hits of false dopamine? Does that effect your mood or energy? The exploration should be done with absolutely no judgement of self, only awareness of self.
Some ideas (but again please make this individual:
- Phone not by my bed - wake up and spend the first 15-20 min away from it
- Using an alarm clock instead of my phone alarm
- Gratitude journaling in the morning
- Reading 10 pages each night
- Calling a family member each day
- Daily meditation
Think of this week as the brain becoming aware of itself. Excitement to see the light bulbs turn on :)
