SPRING CHALLENGE
APRIL 7 - MAY 7
Welcome to this seasons challenge, all about the art of noticing, creating unconscious routine of being present, and healing our nervous systems through slowing down.
The Glimmer's Challenge is quite simple - to notice the things that give you joy. They can be super tiny, or exciting life events - the size of the glimmer doesn't matter, the feeling is the other thing that matters.
It is a feeling completely personal to you - unique to you - and sometimes hard to explain in a descriptive sense... but the way you can articulate it to someone else would be to share the things that make you feel that common thread feeling of joy. For example, I cannot quite express the feeling for myself but the following things all give me that feeling (this is a short version of a very long and ever-expanding list):
1. closing my eyes in the sun and listening to the birds
2. a forehead kiss
3. a cat purring and needing my arm
4. getting disposable camera pictures developed and finally opening the envelope
5. watching home videos
6. christmas morning
7. the smell of fresh cut grass in the summer
8. hearing an old song I love and remembering exactly where I was when it came out
9. picking veggies in my garden
10. the sound of ocean waves
All different experiences, all the same feeling inside.
How to do the challenge:
1. Each day make a note of 3-5 Glimmers throughout your day. You can note these in an actual note (on your phone or a journal), and/or snap pictures of it/that represent it. The goal is daily because beyond it being a fun challenge, the success of creating small but impactful unconscious shifts are small repeated exposures. The act of daily slowing down, becoming aware and present to recognize these glimmers adds up over the next month.
2. Challenge wise - if you want to participate on here, you are required to share those glimmers in this group (whatever format you want). Points will be awarded for the following:
- 1 point per glimmer with a max of 5/day
- 5 points per days shared (max sharing once/day)
- 1 point for each interaction on other's glimmer posts (comments *max 1 point per post)
Prizes will be awarded for the top glimmer points!
I will be sharing (but not participating in the points of course).
