Breath Work to Decrease Stress
Breath Work to Decrease Stress
The 4-7-8 Breathing Technique was developed by Harvard Doctor Dr. Andrew Weil, based off the ancient yogic method pranayama, in his studying of the breathing rhythm that best signals to the nervous system to reach a state of calm. It is often referred to as the natural tranquilizer for the nervous system. The 4 second inhale, 7 second hold, and slow 8 second exhale helps create a flow that brings the nervous system into a state of decreasing stress responses.
Repeat up to 8 cycles, but always following what feels best for you!
